Struggling with PCOS? Here is my story...

My BIO is pretty long because I have been through A LOT! So here is a quicker version to explain all of what I have been through and what I found that has worked and helped me make PCOS manageable.

SPARKLE 4 SUMMER

LET'S SPARKLE 4 SUMMER! I want to SPARKLE for summer! To walk out feeling confident in my shorts and not having my thighs slap together!! Totally hate that when it happens. Or better yet, I want to SPARKLE walking out on the Beach in my new bathing suite! So far I have focused on making simple healthy changes and my body has responded well! I have dramatically reduced the amount of fat I was hauling around, improved my immune system and I am carving out some new muscles I didn't even know I had! Since the plan has worked so well, I want to share it with you and continue the journey!! It won't take long. Only 21 Days! We will focus on a simple clean eating plan, proper portion sizes (using special containers to simplify things), dense nutrition, and 30 min of fitness daily. That's it! How Often Should You Eat?

The simple rule for millions of years has been to eat to survive, but our modern lifestyle seems to have it flipped. Now, with obesity rates on the rise and affecting more than one-third of Americans, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it seems humans survive so they can eat. "What we should eat", has been debated as diet recommendations have changed over the decades from fat free to high protein to low carb. As has the simplest of factors — how much we should eat — with calories occupying the central role. But what about when ? If your goal is weight loss, should you eat throughout the day or is there value in reserving meal times for certain segments of the day? What is your WHY?

Look who grabbed the weights and decided to join Mommy today?! Its exciting to see the kids interested in what Mommy is doing and why we have made some many healthy changes over the last few years.  I started on my healthy journey for a few reasons. The first reason was that I was tired of being fatigued and sick often, and simply wanted to feel better and be more present with my family. The second was to place more value on the temple The Almighty put me in. We only get one body and should be more diligent to care for it! The third reason was to teach my family how to live a healthier lifestyle so they could pass it along for generations to come! And the last reason? Well that is just a bonus of making healthier choices daily. Iron. Do you get enough?

Iron is something a lot of people just can't seem to keep a handle on. Personally I struggle with low iron, and I know many women who's low iron takes it to an all new level of low. NOT GOOD! Being tired is hard enough by itself, but if you struggle excessively low iron you can have all sorts of awful symptoms. For example: Feeling weak and tired out easily. Dizziness. Grumpy or cranky. Headaches Looking very pale. Feeling short of breath. Trouble concentrating. These are just a few symptoms listed. Typically after being diagnosed with anemia the Doctor will prescribed an iron supplement. I don't know about you, but these cause me to get severely constipated. Which just makes everything worse! After all we need to be able to assimilate our supplements, so being constipated makes this even more difficult. I have had better luck with using iron rich foods. Not only do the foods make me feel better, but they are much more easily digested. Another things tha...

Do you have a proper Support System?

Having the proper support system in place is key to helping yourself succeed in all your goals. Do you find that you tend to be a loner? Why is that? Maybe you should ask yourself that question and really dig down deep. For each of us there are different reasons, but most of it stems from old past history of people letting us down in one fashion or another.. I used to be a loner because I had lost trust in others around me. But what I started to find out was that I was putting my trust into the wrong kind of people. Not everyone deserves our trust, but it is important to find good solids folks to stand with you when times get hard. And good people do still exist!! You just have to be on the look out for them. My own lack of trust in people is why for years I was let down time after time, which eventually led to a very negative perception of people in general. Thankfully once I saw what I was doing, and who I was choosing to put my faith in, it was much easier to find those who were...

THE TRUTH ABOUT SALT!!

Here is some good info about salt.  Lately most people are running in fear of salt. But in reality, salt is actually good for you! Yes, you heard me correctly!! Salt is good for you! It just depends on what types of salt you are consuming. In order for your body to be able to process salt normally and extract all the mineral you need to get your salt from a mineral rich source. Coach Summit 2012

Coach Summit 2012 was in Vegas this year! This was one of the BEST experiences I have ever had. Surrounded by positive people all doing their best to help others and end the trend of obesity! It was AWESOME!  Beachbody totally spoiled us all! We got to stay at the MGM Grand! Attended all sorts of seminars where we learned a lot. And the parties they threw were wonderful! If you have the passion for helping others, there is NO better job then being a Beachbody COACH! I can't say enough about how important it is to surround yourself with positive people! Positive people make the difference in how you view the world and how successful you become. Before Beachbody I never saw myself as a business woman. Heck I never thought I could attain much! But through my time with them Beachbody I have been inspired to be more and do more with my life then I ever thought I could! They are truly inspirational! The highlight of the weekend was watching a good friend of mine win $100,000!!! R...

Lose weight and get fit!

Is there a difference between losing weight and getting fit? Absolutely!! When you really stop to think about it you need both in order to achieve success!! At this point you maybe scratching your head and thinking that losing weight and getting fit are the same thing. But honestly they are NOT!! We just want everything to be simple, so we don't have to work hard or give anything up. So it is easier to lump losing weight and getting fit into the same category. The term getting FIT really takes place in the GYM. You are toning your muscles and helping to raise your metabolism so that you can burn more fat at a faster rate. Ultimately becoming stronger. But can you truly do all your work in the gym? No, not really! If you continue with bad eating habits and stop at the fast food joints, eat sugary snacks, or eat "dead food" regularly (food from a box, over processed, additives...) you are really putting your potential success on hold.
