How to get your kids to eat healthier!

The best way I know of getting the kids to eat healthier is to have them help you prepare the food! Egg muffins are a super simple meal to make, and an easy way to get the kids involved too! All you have to do is cut up your toppings, lay them aside and mix the eggs. Once you're done mixing the eggs (I recommend the adult do this if the kids are little), add the egg mixture to the muffin tin evenly, and then have the kids sprinkle in the toppings. Easy peasy! In this recipe we used 12 eggs, added 1/4 cup onion, 1/2 cup tomato and 1/2 cup shredded cheese. Bake @ 375° for 20 minutes. I'm so proud of Miss K for helping me make these today! 💕 She did such a great job helping! And once they were done she was super excited to chow down on the fruits of her labor.

Top 3 MUST DO'S Being aware of your calorie intake is super important, but its only a small peice of the puzzle when it comes to getting healthier. Here are the top 3 things I did and continue to do to improve my health... 1. Be consistent with healthy habits. AKA eat more whole foods, less sugar and exercise 3-4 times a weeks.  2. Ditch all the chemicals and additives. Trade out cleaners, airfreshners and anything with dies or perfumes for healthy non toxic options. 3. Pay attention to your portion sizes and eat consistently through the day. #top3 #chemicalssuck #healthychoices

How I eat!

Being a busy Mom I have to keep things super simple. Thankfully "simple" doesn't have to mean boring though. I like to use containers to measure my portions. That helps me take the guess work out of things. And I also like to eat foods that I know my family will like too! The meals I make typically have 5 ingredients or less. Which makes putting meals together a sinch! Here's a lunch example from the other day. Clean eating, food prep and nutrition are THE MOST important steps I do all week to keep my healthy journey on track. I have found out the hard way that you can work out all day and still not see results if your not getting the right nutrition and eating properly daily. Without good nutrition and proper healthy food options you'll have one of two out comes. Either you won't see results at all, or your body will hang onto fat in specific parts of the body (back fat, belly, arms)... Once your get your nutrition along with clean healthy eating in line, that's when you'll see real changes happen. How Zigzag Dieting Can Break Your Weight Loss Plateau

Zigzagging is the most powerful tool in your nutrition arsenal for adjusting your diet as your fitness or your goals change. Whether you want to lose weight, gain weight, or just eat so that you perform at your best, the most effective tool to figure out how much you should be eating is known as zigzag dieting . Also referred to as “refeeding” in bodybuilding circles, it’s a technique I’ve been using for years. Here’s how to zigzag diet: On 2-3 days of the week, eat the same number of calories you usually would. On the remaining 4-5 days, eat more (or less) calories.
